Last week, BAGTAG attended IATA’s Baggage Working Group meeting in Miami. The Baggage Working group consists of airlines, airport and strategic partners and looks at new developments in the world of baggage. Together the group is looking at bringing these developments to the industry and supports implementation initiatives that will benefit all stakeholders.
We gladly accepted an invitation to present on a recent trial we did together with IATA and Qatar Airways at Hamad International Airport. That successful test showed that baggage handling systems at Hamad are ready to accept EBTs as a highly convenient alternative to paper bag tags.
It's becoming clear that electronic bag tags are gaining ground and are going to see higher adoption this year!
Thanks to IATA and Miami Airport for their hospitality!
